صدر أمر ملكي كريم يقضي بالموافقة على النظام الأساس لمستشفى الملك خالد التخصصي للعيون ومركز الأبحاث، وتحويله إلى مؤسسة مستقلة ذات طبيعة خاصة غير هادفة للربح تحت مظلة الهيئة الملكية لمدينة الرياض. وبهذه المناسبة، رفع معالي الرئيس التنفيذي المكلف للهيئة الملكية لمدينة الرياض المهندس إبراهيم بن محمد السلطان، الشكر والتقدير لخادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود ـ أيده الله ـ، ولصاحب السمو الملكي الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود ولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء، رئيس مجلس إدارة الهيئة الملكية لمدينة الرياض - حفظه الله - على توجيهاتهما الدائمة بالعناية والاهتمام بصحة المواطنين والمقيمين في المملكة العربية السعودية، مبينًا أن هذا التحول يهدف إلى أن يصبح المستشفى واحدًا من أفضل المراكز التخصصية في مجال العيون على مستوى العالم، والتأكيد على أن القطاع الصحي في المملكة من القطاعات التي تحظى باهتمام كبير من القيادة الحكيمة، ضمن منظومة التطوير والتنمية التي تشهدها بلادنا وفق برامج ومستهدفات "رؤية المملكة 2030"، التي تدركُ احتياجاتِ تلك القطاعاتِ، وتواكبُ مستجداتِها، سعياً لتوفيرِ بيئةٍ يحصلُ فيها المواطن والمقيم على أحدث معايير الخدمات الطبية والرعاية الصحية.

وقال: "إن الثقة الملكية في الهيئة الملكية لمدينة الرياض لقيادة برنامج التحول للكيانات الصحية والتعليمية المحورية تأتي في إطار تعظيم دورها في رحلة نمو الرياض وتحقيق المستهدفات التنموية والاقتصادية المرجوة منها". وأوضح المهندس السلطان أن مستشفى الملك خالد التخصصي للعيون ومركز الأبحاث يعد رائدًا في مجالِ طبِ العيونِ والبصرياتِ، ويتجاوزُ تأثيره المملكة إلى العالم؛ بوجوده وحضوره في المنظمات الدولية، وما يقدّمُه من خدماتٍ صحيةٍ وتدريبيةٍ وتعليميةٍ وبحثيةٍ، تعودُ بالنفعِ على صحةِ المواطنِ، وتسهم بالمحافظة على البصر، وتعزّزُ وتدعم منظومةَ القطاعِ الصحيِ في المملكة. وأفاد أن تحول مستشفى الملك خالد التخصصي للعيون ومركز الأبحاث يأتي ضمن برنامج تحول الكيانات التعليمية والصحية التخصصية التي شملت جامعة الملك سعود، ومستشفى الملك فيصل التخصصي ومركز الأبحاث الذي يعكس بدوره توجه الهيئة الملكية لمدينة الرياض نحو تحسين الخدمات الصحية التعليمية في المملكة، وتعزيز التعاون بينها كممكّن رئيس لتحقيق المستهدفات الطموحة ضمن منظومة متكاملة في زيادة التعاون والبحث والابتكار في مجال صحة العيون. وأشار إلى أن الأمر الكريم يمثّل تأكيدًا على حرص القيادة الرشيدة - حفظها الله - على الارتقاء بالقطاع الصحي ويُعد ضم المستشفى تحت مظلة الهيئة الملكية لمدينة الرياض تعزيزاً لقيمتها الريادية العالمية، مما يعزز حوكمة أعمالها ويزيد من تنافسية مخرجاتها، فضلاً عن ترسيخ مكانة الرياض كوجهة طبية عالمية والارتقاء بالخدمات الصحية في المملكة، كما تحرص الهيئة الملكية لمدينة الرياض على دورها الإشرافي في تنمية قيمة الأصول التابعة لها ومواكبتها للتجارب العالمية الناجحة.
