مدير OpenAI عن اغتيال ترامب: بوصة واحدة يمكنها تغيير التاريخ

توجه سام ألتمان، الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة OpenAI التي تصنع ChatGPT، إلى وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي يوم الأحد لمشاركة أفكاره حول محاولة الاغتيال الأخيرة للرئيس السابق دونالد ترامب، مشددًا على التأثير الذي يمكن أن تحدثه الهوامش الصغيرة على مسار التاريخ.
وكتب ألتمان على موقع X المعروف سابقًا باسم تويتر: "أفكر كثيرًا في الفارق الذي يمكن أن تحدثه بوصة واحدة في التاريخ".
أخذها ألتمان إلى X للدعوة إلى الوحدة الوطنية وتقليل التوترات السياسية. وقال: "آمل أن تكون هذه لحظة نحدق فيها في الهاوية ونشعر بالامتنان لأننا ذهبنا لولا نعمة الله، ونقرر بشكل جماعي رفض الخطاب وإيجاد المزيد من الوحدة قليلاً".
وفي وقت سابق من اليوم، أعرب ألتمان عن ارتياحه لبقاء ترامب في أمان، وكتب: "سعيد للغاية أن الرئيس ترامب في أمان!".
أشاد المدير التنفيذي لشركة OpenAI برد فعل الحزب الديمقراطي على الحادث، مشيرًا إلى أنه "يسعدني أن أرى معظم الديمقراطيين يتمتعون بنعمة التقدم والقيادة في هذه النقطة، ومقاومة الرغبة في كلا الجانبين".
كما أعرب قادة التكنولوجيا الآخرون عن قلقهم ودعوا إلى الوحدة. كتب الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة أبل تيم كوك: "أصلي من أجل الشفاء العاجل للرئيس ترامب. أفكاري معه ومع الضحايا الآخرين وعائلة ترامب. أدين هذا العنف بشدة".
ردد الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة Google ساندر بيتشاي هذا الشعور قائلاً: "أتمنى الشفاء العاجل للرئيس ترامب، لقد صدمت من إطلاق النار اليوم والخسائر في الأرواح. العنف السياسي لا يطاق ويجب علينا جميعًا أن نتحد لمعارضته بقوة".
وأكد ساتيا ناديلا، الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة مايكروسوفت، أنه "ببساطة لا يوجد مكان لأي نوع من العنف في مجتمعنا"، بينما وصفه مارك زوكربيرج من ميتا بأنه "يوم حزين لبلدنا". وأشاد مؤسس أمازون، جيف بيزوس، برباطة جأش ترامب، قائلاً: "أظهر رئيسنا السابق نعمة وشجاعة هائلتين تحت النيران الحرفية الليلة".
وأدت محاولة الاغتيال إلى إصابة ترامب بجروح طفيفة في أذنه، في حين قُتل أحد المشاركين في التجمع وأصيب اثنان آخران بجروح خطيرة. وتم إطلاق النار على مطلق النار، ويدعى توماس ماثيو كروكس، البالغ من العمر 20 عامًا، في مكان الحادث.
