توافد حجاج بيت الله الحرام، منذ وقت مبكر إلى مسجد نمرة، في مشعر عرفات، اليوم السبت، للاستماع إلى خطبة عرفة، وأداء صلاتي الظهر والعصر جمعًا وقصرًا؛ اقتداءً بسنة النبي محمد ﷺ، وفقاً لما نقلته فضائية القاهرة الإخبارية.
ويُعد "نمرة" ثاني أكبر المساجد مساحةً بمنطقة مكة المكرمة بعد المسجد الحرام، وشهد خلال القرن الماضي أضخم توسعاته، بتكلفة بلغت 237 مليون ريال، على طولٍ بلغ 340 مترًا من الشرق إلى الغرب، وعرضٍ يقدر بـ240 مترًا من الشمال إلى الجنوب، ومساحة تجاوزت 110 آلاف متر مربع.
