شهدت جنازة العامري فاروق نائب رئيس النادي ووزير الرياضة الأسبق، بمسجد الشرطة بالشيخ زايد، حضور العديد من نجوم الرياضة والإعلام لتأدية صلاة الجنازة على جثمانه قبل موارته الثرى.
وكان على رأس الحضور الكابتن محمود الخطيب رئيس النادي الأهلي والكابتن حسن حمدي رئيس النادي الأسبق، والمهندس عدلي القيعي رئيس شركة الأهلي، والإعلامي أحمد شوبير، ومحمد الجارحي عضو مجلس الأهلي، والكابتن أسامة عرابي، والكابتن حمادة صدي، والكابتن سيد عبد الحفيظ، والكابتن امير عبد الحميد، والكابتن سيد معوض، والكابتن حسين لبيب رئيس نادي الزمالك، والكابتن ضياء السيد، والكابتن وليد سليمان، والكابتن مصطفى عبده، والناقد الرياضي حسن المستكاوي، والكابتن على أبو جريشة نجم الإسماعيلي، والكابتن طاهر أبو زيد وزير الرياضة السابق ونجم الاهلي، ومهند مجدى عضو مجلس الأهلي، وخالد مرتجي امين الصندوق بالأهلي، وغيرهم من نجوم المجتمع للرياضة والإعلام.
وأعلن النادي الأهلي عن تلقي العزاء في وفاة الوزير العامري فاروق، نائب رئيس النادي ووزير الرياضة الأسبق، يوم الاثنين الموافق ٢٩-١-٢٠٢٤م، بالقاعة الرئيسية بمسجد المشير طنطاوي.
وتوفي صباح اليوم العامري فاروق، نائب رئيس النادي الأهلي، عن عمر يناهز 53 عاما وذلك بعد صراع طويل مع المرض.
كشف مصادر مقرب أن العامري فاروق قد دخل في غيبوبة منذ شهرين إثر تعرضه لنزيف في المخ ، وأجرى عدة جراحات .
