نجح فريق الأشعة التدخلية وقسطرة المخ بمستشفى المواساة بالدمام بالتعاون مع فريق المخ والأعصاب بمستشفى المواساة بالقطيف بفضل الله وتوفيقه من إنقاذ حياة مريض في العقد الثامن من العمر بعد توقف الإمداد الدموي والتروية لنصف المخ الأيسر بالكامل.

. تجهيز 979 حديقة وساحة و213 مضمار و18 متنزه استعدادًا للعيدوكان المريض قد وصل لقسم الطوارئ بمستشفى المواساة بالقطيف وهو يعاني من جلطة حادة وشلل تام في نصف جسمه الأيمن مع عدم قدرته على الكلام، وعلى الفور قام الدكتور محمد حسين استشاري المخ والأعصاب بمستشفى المواساة بالقطيف بإستقبال المريض وعمل الفحوصات اللازمة للمخ والشرايين الدماغية والتي أظهرت وجود انسداد كامل في الشريان السباتي الأيسر، وتوقف التروية لنصف المخ الأيسر بالكامل. وعلى الفور تم حقن الدواء المذيب للجلطة وإبلاغ فريق القسطرة المخية بمستشفى المواساة بالدمام للاستعداد لاستقبال المريض لمحاولة سحب الجلطة.
تم نقل المريض على الفور إلى مستشفى المواساة بالدمام لإجراء عملية سحب الجلطة ميكانيكيًا عن طريق القسطرة المخية، حيث استقبل المريض فريق القسطرة المخية بإشراف الدكتور أحمد الطاهر استشاري الأشعة التدخلية وقسطرة المخ وفريق المخ والأعصاب بإشراف الدكتورة ألفت استشاري المخ والأعصاب، وفريق الرعاية المركزة بإشراف الدكتور ألفريد استشاري الرعاية المركزة. وتم نقل المريض لغرفة القسطرة حيث تم سحب الجلطة بالكامل من الشريان السباتي الأيسر عن طريق دعامة سحب الجلطات المخية والشفط الميكانيكي عن طريق القسطرة المخية.
تم بفضل الله وتوفيقه إعادة التروية بالكامل لنصف المخ الأيسر، ومن ثم تم نقل المريض للرعاية المركزة لتلقي العلاج المكثف وبدء عمليات التأهيل والعلاج الطبيعي.
