أعلن رئيس مجلس النواب بالبرلمان السلوفيني أن البرلمان صوت لصالح الاعتراف بفلسطين كدولة مستقلة.

وأفاد المركز الصحفي للبرلمان بأن المجلس الوطني رفض المبادرة التي قدمها فابيان مولينا، نائب الحزب الاشتراكي الديمقراطي عن زيورخ"، مبينا أن 61 عضوا صوتوا لصالح قانون الاعتراف بالدولة الفلسطينية مقابل 131 صوتا ضده.
واقترح مولينا الموافقة على مشروع قرار ينص على أن "المجلس الوطني سيعترف بفلسطين كدولة ضمن حدود 1967، بشرط إطلاق سراح الرهائن الذين اختطفتهم حماس في 7 أكتوبر 2023".
وأشار في كلمته إلى أن أيرلندا وإسبانيا والنرويج أعلنت مؤخرا الاعتراف بفلسطين كدولة مستقلة، معتبرا أن "الاعتراف بفلسطين إلى جانب إسرائيل سيساعد في تعزيز السلام والاستقرار في المنطقة وسيساهم في التوصل إلى حل عادل ودائم للصراع الإسرائيلي الفلسطيني".
وخلال المناقشة، تحدث وزير الخارجية السويسري إجنازيو كاسيس ضد اعتماد مشروع القرار المقترح، مشددا على أن بلده تدعم التسوية في الشرق الأوسط على أساس مبدأ الدولتين.
ورأى أنه "نظرا للحرب الحالية في قطاع غزة، فإن الوقت لم يحن بعد للاعتراف بفلسطين كدولة"، مشيرا إلى أنه وفقا للدستور السويسري، فإن المجلس الاتحادي (الحكومة)، وليس البرلمان، هو المسؤول عن الشؤون الدولية، و"هذا ينطبق أيضا على مسألة الاعتراف بالدول".
وحذر وزير الخارجية من أنه إذا أعلن البرلمان اعترافه بفلسطين فإن ذلك سيعني "انتهاكا لتوزيع السلطات".
ونتيجة لذلك، خلال التصويت، لم يتم دعم مشروع القرار المتعلق بالاعتراف بفلسطين إلا من قبل نواب من الحزب الاشتراكي الديمقراطي وحزب الخضر.
