أكد صاحب السمو الأمير جلوي بن عبدالعزيز بن مساعد، أمير منطقة نجران، أن موافقة مجلس الوزراء على تسمية هذا العام بعام الإبل، يجسد حرص خادم الحرمين الشريفين، وسمو ولي عهده الأمين ـ حفظهما الله ـ على إبراز ثقافة وتراث المجتمع السعودي الكريم، وثبات مبادئه وقيمه في الاعتزاز بعمق حضارة الوطن الإسلامية والعربية.
جاء ذلك خلال استقبال سموّه في جلسته الأسبوعية “الإثنينية” اليوم، ملاك الإبل، بحضور المشايخ وعدد من الأهالي ، وقادة ومسؤولي الجهات الحكومية بالمنطقة.

وأشار سمو أمير المنطقة إلى أن نجران تحتضن أكبر نقش صخري للجمل في الجزيرة العربية، وتُعد إحدى أبرز مواطن الإبل، ما يؤكد حجم المسؤولية في المشاركة في إبراز الثقافة والموروث الوطني، مشيدًا بما تشهده المنطقة من أنشطة، شكلت عامل جذب مهم لملاك الإبل في الخليج، حيث انطلقت مع بداية هذا العام فعاليات مزاد الإبل وسباق الهجن في شرورة.
وأكد ملاك الإبل في الكلمة التي ألقاها نيابة عنهم المواطن وليد سليم، أن الإبل تحتل مكانة خاصة في المجتمع السعودي، بوصفها من أهم الموروثات الثقافية التي ارتبطت بحياتهم منذ القدم، مثمنين اهتمام الدولة -رعاها الله-، بهذا الموروث على الصعيدين الرسمي والشعبي من خلال تأسيس ناد للإبل، وإقامة المهرجانات الدورية والسنوية لها، ويشارك فيها الكثير من الملاك والمهتمين في داخل البلد وخارجها، وتسمية عام 2024 بعام الإبل تأصيلًا لمكانتها.
