كشف الرئيس التنفيذي للمركز الوطني للأرصاد الدكتور أيمن بن سالم غلام لـ"اليوم"، أن برنامج الاستمطار بصدد عمل دراسات مناخية في المنطقة الشرقية ولكافة مناطق المملكة، للبحث عن الفرص الضائعة ومواقع تواجد السحب وعدد طائرات الاستمطار، وبناء على نتائج هذه الدراسات يتم تقديم برنامج الاستمطار حسب المعطيات المتوفرة للاستمطار، مشيراً إلى أنه في حال أوصت الدراسة بزيادة عدد طائرات الاستمطار سيكون هناك تغطية لجميع مناطق المملكة بما فيها المنطقة الشرقية.
تأثير التيارات الهوائيةوعن تأثير التيارات الهوائية الهابطة على المنطقة المركزية في مكة المكرمة بوجود الأبراج السكنية، قال "غلام": "التيارات الهوائية لها تأثير على المنطقة المركزية في مكة المكرمة، ولكن هذه الحقيقة يجب أن تكون مبنية على دراسات هندسيه ومعلومات مناخية من المركز الوطني للأرصاد والمركز، يقوم بهذه الدراسة بمشاركة بعض الجهات المعنية".

وأشار "غلام" إلى أن نظام الأرصاد يعتبر نظام يحوكم العلاقة بين المركز وبين المنتمين للطقس والهواء، والمركز لا ينوي إيقاف أو إبعاد المهتمين بالطقس، ولكن يهدف إلى أن التنظيم للمصلحة العامة بحيث يكون المركز الوطني للأرصاد هو الجهة الرسمية وله السيادة في معلومات الإنذار المبكر وتوقعات الطقس، بينما هؤلاء المهتمين ينقلون معلومات الطقس في مدنهم، وكونهم راصدين جويين يمكن الاستفادة من خبراتهم في مجال نقل المعلومة الصحيحة.

كما ألقى المهندس أحمد عدلان الشمراني، الأمين العام للجنة، كلمة استعرض فيها استراتيجية اللجنة الحالية وتطلعاتها المستقبلية، في ظل دعم القيادة الرشيدة – أيدها الله – بقيادة خادم الحرمين الشريفين وسمو ولي العهد الأمين، ومعالي رئيس اللجنة وأعضاء مجلس إدارتها.
وشهد الحفل توقيع عدد من اتفاقيات الشراكة، باركها سمو أمير المنطقة الشرقية، مع كل من مؤسسة الملك عبدالعزيز ورجاله للموهبة والإبداع “موهبة”، وشركة “ركاز العلم للتعليم”، والاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم، وشركة “أكاديمية التعلّم”، وشركة “محمد النهدي للتأمين الطبي”، التي ستوفر تغطية تأمينية لمدة عام كامل لـ430 مستفيدًا من اللجنة.
كما كرّم سموه 18 طالبًا وطالبة من الموهوبين، وسلّم 6 وحدات سكنية لمستفيدين من اللجنة.
وفي ختام الحفل، كرّم سمو أمير المنطقة الشرقية شركاء اللجنة والداعمين من رجال الأعمال والشركات.
