أكد رئيس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم غياني إنفانتينو أنه لم يكن على علم باقتراح مجلس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم بإضافة البطاقة الزرقاء مع الحكام.
وصرح إنفانتينو للصحفيين: “الفيفا يعارض البطاقات الزرقاء تمامًا، لم أكن على علم بهذا الموضوع كرئيس للفيفا، أعتقد أن الفيفا له رأي في مجلس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم، إذا كنت تريد الطرد، فهناك بطاقة حمراء”.
وكانت هيئة وضع قواعد كرة القدم قد اقترحت في الاجتماع السنوي لمجلس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم، على إضافة البطاقة الزرقاء والتي تمكن الحكم من طرد اللاعب لمدة 10 دقائق من المباراة.
