Increase in Meningitis Cases Among Children in Gaza

The Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Muneer Al-Barsh, confirmed today, Monday, that Israeli occupation forces have intensified their attacks on shelters and schools over the past two days.

Al-Barsh told Al-Arabi TV that individuals with chronic illnesses are facing the risk of death due to a shortage of medication.

He also pointed out the rise in the number of children suffering from meningitis as a result of malnutrition.

UNRWA: The Elderly Are Most Vulnerable Due to the Collapse of Healthcare in Gaza

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) warned today, Monday, that the collapse of the healthcare system in the Gaza Strip is putting all residents at risk.

The agency emphasized that the elderly are most vulnerable to these risks, given the shortage of medical services, medications, and the worsening humanitarian crisis in the region.

Israel Considers Reestablishing Permanent Jewish Presence at Joseph’s Tomb in Nablus

For the first time since the Second Intifada, the Israeli army is considering the possibility of reestablishing a permanent Jewish presence at Joseph's Tomb, located in the heart of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, 25 years after its evacuation.

According to a report by Yedioth Ahronoth on Monday, the Israeli Central Command is working on preparing an official plan for the practical feasibility of this move, which is expected to be presented in the coming weeks.

This issue had been frozen due to the recent conflict with Iran, but it has recently resurfaced.

Norwegian Pension Fund Blacklists Two Companies Supplying Weapons to the Israeli Army

The Norwegian government pension fund, one of the largest sovereign wealth funds in the world, decided on Monday, June 30, 2025, to blacklist several companies that supply the Israeli army with weapons used in the war on the Gaza Strip.

The fund confirmed in a statement, reported by Bloomberg, that it has excluded the American company Oshkosh and the German company Thyssenkrupp from its investment list due to their involvement in providing the Israeli occupation with equipment and weapons that may be used in severe human rights violations in Gaza.

This decision was based on a report from the United Nations, which warned that supplying weapons to Israel could expose these companies to the risk of complicity in war crimes and systematic violations of international humanitarian law.

Israeli Army Targets Over 11 Displacement Centers in Gaza During June

The Government Media Office in Gaza announced on Monday that Israeli occupation forces targeted more than 11 displacement centers throughout June, describing the attacks as a crime that reflects the occupation’s blatant disregard for international law.

In a press statement, the office stated, "During June alone, the occupation deliberately targeted over 11 displacement centers as part of an organized crime that demonstrates its flagrant contempt for international law and humanitarian agreements."

As a result, the total number of displacement and shelter centers targeted by the occupation since the start of the war has risen to 256 centers, which house more than 700,000 displaced individuals. These people have been deprived of basic necessities after the occupation destroyed their homes and residential units across Gaza, making the new attacks on their shelters a compounded crime.

Gaza Health Ministry: 28 Killed and 223 Injured in the Last 24 Hours

The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Monday that 28 people, including 3 martyrs retrieved from the rubble, were killed, and 223 others were injured in the past 24 hours.

In its daily report, the ministry stated that the total number of casualties to date has reached 56,531 dead and 133,642 injured since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023.

The ministry confirmed that several victims are still trapped under the rubble and in the streets, while ambulance and civil defense teams are unable to reach them due to continuous shelling and the dangerous field conditions.

Israeli Occupation Allows Wedding Celebration for Settlers Inside Al-Aqsa Mosque Courtyards

On Monday, Israeli occupation forces allowed a wedding celebration for settlers to take place inside the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, a move described as "provocative and humiliating," marking a new chapter in the ongoing Judaization of the holy site.

The Jerusalem Governorate stated in a press release that today’s transformation of Al-Aqsa Mosque into what resembled a public celebration hall for settlers constitutes a "blatant violation of the mosque’s sanctity, a dangerous provocation of Muslim feelings, and a deliberate attempt to impose a new reality that erases the Islamic identity of the place and paves the way for its temporal and spatial division."

The statement emphasized that what is happening at Al-Aqsa is part of a systematic policy aimed at altering its landmarks and enforcing Israeli sovereignty over it by force, asserting that these repeated violations contradict international law and UNESCO resolutions, which regard Al-Aqsa Mosque as a purely Islamic heritage site.

Israeli Massacre Targets "Resthouse" on Gaza Beach

On Monday, June 30, 2025, the Israeli army committed another massacre by targeting civilians at a resthouse (café) on Gaza City's beach.

According to a medical source at Shifa Hospital, 33 people, mostly women and children, were martyred, with others injured, some in critical condition, in an Israeli airstrike on the "Al-Baqa" resthouse on Gaza City's beach.

Local sources also confirmed that among the martyrs was journalist Ismail Abu Hatab, while journalist Bayan Abu Sultan was injured, with her condition now stable.

With the martyrdom of Abu Hatab, the toll of journalists martyred since the beginning of the genocide war on Gaza 21 months ago rises to 228 journalists.

Palestinian Detainee Martyred at Soroka Israeli Hospital

Administrative detainee Louay Faisal Mohammed Nasrallah (22 years old) from Jenin was martyred at Soroka Israeli Hospital on Monday morning after being transferred from Negev Prison.

The Palestinian Prisoners' Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoners' Club confirmed that Nasrallah had been detained administratively since March 26, 2024, adding him to the list of martyrs from the prisoners' movement who have fallen due to the systematic crimes committed by the Israeli occupation's prison system. These crimes include torture, medical negligence, and starvation.

They pointed out that with Nasrallah’s martyrdom, the number of martyrs among prisoners and detainees since the ongoing genocide began has risen to 73, with only the identities of those known publicly, as the crime of enforced disappearance continues. This period in the history of the prisoners' movement and our people is marked by unprecedented bloodshed. Therefore, the number of known martyrs among the prisoners since 1967 has reached 310.

Cabinet Split Over the Future of the War in Gaza

Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (KAN 11) reported on Monday, June 30, 2025, that political leadership is engaged in "sensitive discussions regarding the future of the war in Gaza," amidst a divide within the security cabinet and the military establishment about the direction of the conflict.

According to KAN 11, the disagreements revolve around whether to pursue a prisoner exchange deal or continue military control over additional areas of Gaza. This could involve occupying further regions and solidifying the presence of Israeli forces in the positions they have held over the past weeks.

In this context, Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi and prisoner file coordinator Nitzan Alon, during the cabinet discussions, stated that "deepening the incursion into Gaza could endanger the lives of Israeli prisoners," a message Kochavi repeated in his summary of the session, according to KAN 11.

However, these warnings did not go unnoticed. Channel 13 reported that discussions in the Prime Minister’s office in the past two days were "heated," with a sharp disagreement between the Chief of Staff and military representatives on one side, and Netanyahu’s government ministers on the other.

According to the report, Kochavi told ministers that "continuing the war in its current form endangers the prisoners," noting that their situation "has deteriorated in recent weeks." This warning angered far-right ministers Itamar Ben Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, who accused the military of "imposing a political path on the leadership."

The Israeli Army Issues New Evacuation Orders in Central Gaza City
The Israeli army issued new evacuation orders in central Gaza City on Friday evening, July 11, 2025.
The spokesperson for the Israeli army said, "To the residents of Gaza City in Blocks 783 and 784, in light of the use by the terrorist organization Hamas of civilian areas for terrorist activities, the army will strike the area with extreme force."
He added, "For your safety, evacuate the area immediately. Full responsibility for the suffering of the residents lies with the terrorist organizations, foremost among them Hamas. For your own security, evacuate immediately."

New York Times Reveals How Netanyahu Prolonged the Gaza War to Stay in Power

The American newspaper The New York Times revealed in a report titled "How Netanyahu Prolonged the Gaza War to Stay in Power?" that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was preparing to end the war in Gaza six months after its outbreak.

According to the newspaper, negotiations were underway for a long-term ceasefire with Hamas, and Netanyahu expressed his willingness to accept a compromise solution. He sent a special envoy to inform Egyptian mediators of Israel's new position.

The report explained that in a meeting held at the Ministry of Defense in Tel Aviv, Netanyahu sought approval from his cabinet members, deliberately keeping the plan off the written agenda to surprise the opposing ministers and prevent them from coordinating their opposition.

This occurred in April 2024, before Netanyahu made a political attempt to reassert himself on the stage.

The proposed plan at that time called for halting the war in Gaza for at least six weeks, which would open a window for negotiations with Hamas for a permanent ceasefire. It was expected that Hamas would release more than thirty Israeli detainees within weeks, with the possibility of freeing more if the ceasefire were extended. According to the report, daily attacks on Gaza's population, which numbers around two million, would temporarily stop.

Ending the war, however, posed personal risks for Netanyahu, who leads a fragile coalition dependent on support from far-right ministers seeking to occupy Gaza rather than withdraw from it. These ministers preferred a prolonged war that would allow the reconstruction of Israeli settlements in the Gaza Strip.

The report emphasized that if a ceasefire were to come early, it might push these ministers to withdraw from the coalition, potentially leading to early elections, which polls indicated Netanyahu would likely lose. Outside of power, Netanyahu would be vulnerable, facing a corruption trial since 2020, involving bribery and offering favors to businessmen in exchange for gifts and positive media coverage.

As the government members discussed other matters, the report details how an assistant rushed into the meeting room with a document summarizing Israel’s new negotiating position and quietly placed it in front of Netanyahu. He read it again, highlighting key points with his pen. The road to a ceasefire appeared risky, but he seemed ready to proceed with it.

The session also saw Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich interrupting the proceedings. In 2005, as a young activist, Smotrich had been detained for weeks – without charges – under suspicion of planning to bomb cars on a major highway in an attempt to slow the dismantling of Israeli settlements in Gaza. Today, along with far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, Smotrich is one of the leading advocates within the government for rebuilding settlements in Gaza.

During the meeting, Smotrich announced that he had heard rumors of a proposed agreement, and the details concerned him. He said, "I want you to know, if such a surrender agreement is proposed, there will be no government anymore. The government is over."

According to the report, Netanyahu found himself forced to choose between the opportunity for a ceasefire and his political survival – and he chose survival, denying the existence of any ceasefire plan.

The New York Times points out that one of the most sensitive accusations regarding Netanyahu's handling of the war was the claim that he intentionally prolonged it to achieve personal political gains.

The newspaper added, "Netanyahu exploited the war to improve his political standing, initially to survive, then to achieve a victory on his own terms. Nearly two years into the war, while still facing serious corruption charges, he seems to have a strong chance of continuing to rule until the next general election scheduled for October 2026, when he will be 77 – and he may even win it."

Netanyahu Wraps Up Washington Visit: How the Israeli Media Described It

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu left the United States on Friday, July 11, 2025, heading back to Tel Aviv after a five-day visit, during which he met with top U.S. officials, including President Donald Trump, who welcomed him twice.

The Hebrew newspaper Haaretz commented on the results of the visit, stating that Netanyahu departed Washington without making any progress on the Gaza issue, settling instead for vague promises from Trump and a performance overshadowed by self-aggrandizement at the expense of substantive matters.

The paper noted, "Netanyahu's visit to Washington was expected to be a victory gesture, highlighting the U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran and promoting them as successful setbacks to its nuclear program."

It continued, "Many had hoped that Trump would finally secure a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, including the release of hostages (Israeli detainees), which remained elusive, except for a short-term ceasefire brokered by the U.S. administration in its early days."

Haaretz pointed out that "even the most optimistic voices in Israel and the U.S. believed that progress on the Iran and Gaza files might pave the way for what Netanyahu has long referred to as the 'New Middle East,' where Palestinians are sidelined in favor of broader normalization efforts," according to the newspaper.

Hebrew Media: Israel Agrees to Withdraw from the Mouraj Axis

The Hebrew media reported this morning, Friday, July 11, 2025, on the latest developments in the ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages.

Israeli-American journalist Barak Ravid mentioned that the main point of contention in the ceasefire talks is the extent of Israel's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.

Ravid revealed that Israel had agreed to withdraw from the Mouraj Axis in southern Gaza. He added, "According to the new map, Israel still demands that its forces remain about 2-3 kilometers north of the Philadelphi Corridor."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed hope of reaching an agreement within a few days for the release of more Israeli hostages held by Hamas.

Netanyahu made these comments during an interview on The Record with Greta Van Susteren on Newsmax. He stated that 50 hostages are still held by Hamas, with only 20 believed to be alive.

He continued, "I want to release all of them. We now have an agreement that should bring out half the alive and half the deceased."

Netanyahu added, "This would leave us with 10 living hostages and around 12 deceased, but I will bring them all out. I hope we can finalize the deal in a few days."

He also suggested that Israel and Hamas may reach a 60-day ceasefire during which both sides could attempt to bring an end to the conflict.

Netanyahu: We Hope to Reach an Agreement on Hostages in a Few Days

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed hope that an agreement would be reached in the coming days for the release of more Israeli hostages held by Hamas.

Netanyahu made these statements during an interview on The Record with Greta Van Susteren on Newsmax. He said that 50 hostages remain in Hamas's custody, with only 20 believed to be alive.

He added, "I want to release all of them. We now have an agreement that should bring out half the living and half the deceased."

Netanyahu continued, "This would leave us with 10 living hostages and about 12 deceased, but I will bring them all out. I hope we can finalize the deal in a few days."

He also predicted that Israel and Hamas would reach a 60-day ceasefire, during which both sides could attempt to end the conflict.

On Wednesday, Hamas stated that several key issues remain unresolved in the ongoing ceasefire talks, including the flow of humanitarian aid, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and the provision of real guarantees for a permanent ceasefire.

The interview with Netanyahu on Newsmax came as he concluded his third visit to Washington since President Donald Trump took office in January. Speaking about Trump, Netanyahu said, "Israel has never had such a friend, or such support for Israel, the Jewish state, in the White House."

The United States joined Israel last month in bombing Iran, an action that Trump said "wiped out" three of Iran's nuclear sites. When asked by Netanyahu about the damage assessment, he replied, "Within months, they would have been able to produce nuclear bombs."

Occupation Forces Continue Demolishing Residential Buildings in Tulkarem Refugee Camp

Israeli occupation forces continued today, Friday, July 11, 2025, demolishing residential buildings in Tulkarem Refugee Camp, coinciding with the ongoing aggression against the camp and the city for the 166th consecutive day.

Local sources reported that Israeli bulldozers resumed demolishing more residential buildings in the Al-Murabba neighborhood since the early morning. This is part of a new plan to demolish 104 buildings, containing 400 homes, as well as continuing demolition operations carried out in recent days in several areas of the camp.

Last Sunday, the occupation authorities announced their intention to start implementing large-scale demolition orders in Tulkarem Refugee Camp, disregarding a decision by the Israeli Supreme Court to freeze these orders earlier.

This week, the occupation army allowed several families, who were unable to evacuate their homes earlier, to enter the camp and retrieve their belongings. The operation involved 54 homes included in the demolition plan, amidst strict measures that included harassment, detention, obstructing the evacuation process, and firing live ammunition at the residents.

Meanwhile, Noor Shams Refugee Camp is witnessing military escalation under the ongoing aggression and siege imposed by the occupation forces for the 153rd consecutive day. There has been widespread deployment of infantry units and their vehicles in the Al-Nasr Mountain and Al-Eyada neighborhood, accompanied by the seizure of citizens' homes, converting them into military barracks after forcing their residents to leave. Live ammunition is fired at anyone trying to approach the camp, and explosions are heard periodically from within the camp.

Noor Shams Refugee Camp has also been subjected to house burnings by the occupation forces, who set fire to homes. In recent days, extensive demolitions have affected dozens of residential buildings as part of an Israeli plan to demolish 106 buildings in Tulkarem and Noor Shams camps, including 48 buildings demolished in Noor Shams alone. This has caused widespread destruction and the opening of large streets, which separated neighborhoods from each other.

The escalation has led to the forcible displacement of more than 5,000 families from Tulkarem and Noor Shams camps, totaling more than 25,000 people. Over 600 homes have been completely destroyed, and 2,573 homes have been partially damaged, as the entrances to the camps remain blocked with barricades, turning them into lifeless zones.

Injuries, Including Children, Following Settler Attack on Citizens in Bethlehem

Several citizens, including children, were injured today, Friday, from wounds and bruises after being attacked by settlers under the protection of the Israeli occupation army near the village of Al-Minya, southeast of Bethlehem.

Zaid Kawazbah, head of the Al-Minya village council, said that settlers, with the protection of the Israeli army, attacked around 10 homes in the "Wadi Sa’ir" area near the village. They threw stones at the homes, breaking windows and creating panic among the residents.

He added that several citizens also suffered from suffocation due to the Israeli army firing toxic tear gas canisters towards the houses.

The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that they treated a 3-year-old girl who was injured in the head due to an attack by settlers near Al-Minya.

Gaza: Israel Blocks Entry of Infant Food, Leading to Infant Deaths

International relief organizations in the Gaza Strip are warning that Israel is obstructing the entry of infant formula into the region, leading to the deaths of infants. According to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), the percentage of children suffering from malnutrition has risen from 5.2% during the ceasefire earlier this year to 10.7% now.

While Israel claims it allows food supplies into the Gaza Strip, famine is worsening, particularly among children, due to the ongoing shortage of infant formula and nutritional supplements for pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as children.

International relief organizations confirm that Israel has been obstructing the entry of these supplies since the resumption of the war in Gaza on March 18, 2025. Israel is requiring organizations to apply for long and complicated customs permits, delaying the delivery of essential supplies.

Sources from relief organizations report that Israel is forcing them to buy these goods in Israel, despite their exorbitant prices compared to the West Bank, Jordan, and other regions. The Haaretz newspaper highlighted that this policy contradicts Israel's past practices and international norms. For example, neighboring countries of Ukraine do not impose customs fees on goods transported to Ukraine, and 136 countries have signed an international treaty urging states not to impose customs fees on humanitarian goods. Israel, however, has refused to sign this treaty.

Some relief organizations have stated they are unable to pay the customs fees due to insufficient budgets or their lack of registration in Israel, resulting in humanitarian goods being stockpiled in Jordan, the West Bank, or at the Ashdod port.

Additionally, relief organizations face another issue: the slow process of clearing goods through the Kerem Shalom crossing, which is contingent on permits issued by the Israeli army's Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories unit. Israel has repeatedly denied requests from the United Nations and other organizations to allow goods through this crossing.

Haaretz also mentioned that due to the collapse of food security and the spread of famine in Gaza, crowds are seizing relief trucks loaded with food supplies, preventing them from reaching distribution sites. Although relief organizations have little choice but to allow this to alleviate hunger, they refuse to send valuable goods like nutritional supplements because they believe these products should reach those who need them most.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 90% of pregnant and breastfeeding women in Gaza are severely malnourished, impairing their ability to produce breast milk and causing premature births and miscarriages.

Doctors Without Borders reports that one in five pregnant or breastfeeding women in Gaza is at risk of death due to malnutrition. UNICEF also reported last month that since the beginning of this year, 112 children have been admitted to hospitals or clinics daily due to severe malnutrition.

The newspaper added that a group of nearly 60 Israeli experts in nutrition and public health warned this week of the worsening situation for pregnant women and children in Gaza. The group's report stated that even when women receive infant formula, they often lack access to clean water to prepare the food, exposing children to infection. The group recommended accelerating the delivery of nutritional supplements, including vitamins, folic acid, iron, and protein, for children and women, as well as increasing the supply of clean water.

The group's report concluded, "Field data shows a collapse in the living conditions of pregnant and breastfeeding women in Gaza. This crisis not only threatens their health but also the health of the next generation. Immediate humanitarian intervention is essential and mandatory according to medical ethics, public health, and international humanitarian law."

Donna Brenski-Walker, director of the American relief organization Rebuilding Alliance, which has been working in Gaza for over 20 years, reported that the Jordanian Air Force has called on her organization to help with aerial food distribution, which will drop hundreds of thousands of energy meals into the region.

Brenski-Walker added, "The emergency we've feared has now occurred in Gaza. The Jordanian Air Force approached Israel requesting permission for an aerial drop campaign for three weeks. I hope this will begin in a few days. My team is providing whatever food we can find for families of children suffering from severe malnutrition. People there are eating just one meal a day. There is not enough food."

UN: 798 Killed While Attempting to Access Aid in Gaza

The United Nations Office for Human Rights reported that at least 798 people have been killed while attempting to access food aid in Gaza since the end of May 2025.

A spokesperson for the office told reporters that 615 of these individuals were killed near sites associated with the so-called "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation" while attempting to receive food aid since May 27. Another 183 were killed on the roads leading to aid convoys.

Earlier this month, 169 relief organizations called for the cessation of the Israeli-American aid distribution mechanism led by the Foundation, after receiving near-daily reports of Palestinians being killed by Israeli forces while waiting for aid near the Foundation's centers.

The organizations demanded the return to the aid delivery system previously managed by the United Nations in Gaza until March 2025, when the Israeli siege on the area tightened. The siege was slightly eased in late May, allowing for gradual entry of aid distributed through the Foundation, which is linked to Israel. The organizations have refused to cooperate with the Foundation.

The statement criticized the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation," which began managing aid from late May, replacing the usual international humanitarian organizations. The signatories of the statement included organizations from Europe, the United States, and Israel, which operate in the fields of medical aid, food relief, development, and human rights.

Erdogan: Israeli Administration Will Be Held Accountable for Genocide in Gaza

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan affirmed that the Israeli administration will eventually be held accountable, both legally and historically, for the genocide it has been committing in the Gaza Strip for the past 21 months, which has led to the deaths of around 57,000 Palestinians to date.

This statement was made in a video message sent to a ceremony held in Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday, marking the 30th anniversary of the genocide committed by Serbian forces in the town of Srebrenica.

Erdogan emphasized that the international community has remained silent about the Srebrenica massacre and, in recent years, has only watched the atrocities committed in Palestine.

He said, "The Israeli administration will be held accountable sooner or later, both legally and historically, for the genocide of around 57,000 Palestinians, including children, women, the elderly, and young people."

10 Martyrs and Over 60 Injured Waiting for Aid in Rafah

Ten Palestinians were martyred and over 60 others were injured today, Friday, July 11, 2025, as Israeli occupation forces opened fire on individuals waiting for aid in the Al-Shakush area, northwest of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

Local sources reported that health centers have issued urgent calls for blood donations due to the large number of injuries.

Additionally, five more people were injured after an Israeli drone dropped bombs near the Al-Nazla roundabout in northern Gaza.

Medical sources confirmed that 15 people have been martyred by Israeli occupation forces' gunfire in Gaza since the early hours of today.

Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have launched an assault on the Gaza Strip, resulting in the martyrdom of 57,762 Palestinians, the majority of whom are children and women. The number of injured stands at 137,656, according to preliminary figures. Many victims remain trapped under rubble or in streets, with rescue and medical teams unable to reach them.

Haaretz: The War Can No Longer Be Explained Except by an Overwhelming Survival Instinct

The Hebrew newspaper Haaretz reported today, Friday, July 11, 2025, that since the beginning of this week, seven Israeli soldiers have been killed: five in a landmine explosion in Beit Hanoun, two in Khan Younis, one of whom was captured by a Hamas force, and two others who ended their lives after being unable to endure the events and pain of the war.

The newspaper added that, at this stage, the war can no longer be explained except as a coalition driven by an excessive survival instinct.

It pointed out that Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi stated that the conditions were ripe for a deal, but it remains questionable whether the recent military operations in the sector have truly contributed to achieving this outcome. As long as the Chief of Staff supports the intention to end the war and bring back 20 prisoners and 30 bodies, it may be best to focus on that.

The newspaper emphasized that "it is advisable not to ignore Hamas's ability to cause harm. The movement remains committed to its goals—ensuring the end of the fighting while preserving what remains of its military strength."

Poll: 47% of Israelis Optimistic About Reaching an Agreement in Gaza

A public opinion poll conducted on Friday, July 11, 2025, showed that 47% of Israelis are optimistic about reaching an agreement for a prisoner exchange and ceasefire in the Gaza Strip within days.

According to the poll published by Maariv newspaper, 47% are optimistic, 37% are pessimistic, and 16% are unsure whether an agreement will be reached in the coming days.

Indirect negotiations are underway between Israel and Hamas in Doha, Qatar, with Egyptian and Qatari mediation and U.S. oversight in an attempt to reach an agreement.

The poll results indicate that despite Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Washington and reports of progress toward an agreement, Netanyahu’s coalition in the Knesset remains at 51 seats, compared to 59 seats for the opposition and 10 seats for Arab representatives, if elections were held today.

After Netanyahu - Katz to Washington Next Week

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Katz is set to travel to Washington early next week for extensive meetings with American officials, according to Hebrew media reports.

Channel 12 reported that after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's five-day visit to Washington, Katz will head to the U.S. to discuss the Iranian file. The channel mentioned on its website, "Katz is traveling to Washington next week for extensive talks with senior American officials, in light of the attack on Iran."

The report emphasized that Katz’s visit is part of the understandings between Israel and the U.S. regarding the Iranian issue, with the likely signing of a confidential memorandum of understanding between the Israeli and U.S. defense ministries, which aims to strengthen relations between the two countries, though no further details were provided.

The memorandum is expected to focus on Israel's security and the purchase of offensive and defensive weapons.

The channel also mentioned that Netanyahu met with U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth at the Pentagon to discuss the continuation of U.S.-Israel security cooperation.

On Sunday, Netanyahu, who is wanted by international justice, began a visit to Washington, which will last until Thursday. This is his third visit in six months.

On Tuesday evening, Netanyahu met President Donald Trump at the White House for the second time in 24 hours to discuss efforts to reach an agreement for a prisoner swap and ceasefire in Gaza.

Both Israel and its ally the U.S. accuse Iran of seeking to develop nuclear weapons, while Tehran asserts that its program is for peaceful purposes, including electricity generation.

Israel is the only country in the region with a nuclear arsenal, which remains outside international oversight. For decades, Israel has continued to occupy land in Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon.

With U.S. support, Israel has been conducting a genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, involving killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international appeals and the International Court of Justice orders to cease.

The genocide has resulted in more than 195,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of whom are women and children, over 11,000 missing persons, and hundreds of thousands displaced, while famine has claimed many lives, including dozens of children.

"Gaza Awqaf" Accuses Israel of Desecrating Graves and Stealing Corpses in Khan Yunis

The Ministry of Awqaf in Gaza stated on Friday that the Israeli military committed a heinous crime by exhuming graves and stealing the bodies of "martyrs" and the deceased after storming a cemetery in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza.

The ministry condemned the act as "a flagrant violation of all religious, moral, and human norms."

It said, "In an inhumane act that transcends all limits and disregards every religious and international standard, the occupation forces, at dawn yesterday, Thursday, committed a new horrific crime by excavating and desecrating graves and stealing the bodies of martyrs and the deceased."

The ministry described the behavior as "a criminal, barbaric act that is condemned by both religion and law."

It emphasized that "this crime represents a severe violation of the sanctity of the deceased, an overt attack on the holiness of cemeteries and the dignity of humans after death, and reveals the moral degradation the occupation has reached. It is not enough for them to kill the living; they are now chasing the dead in their graves."

The ministry further pointed out that the Israeli army deliberately destroyed 40 cemeteries out of 60 across the Gaza Strip under "false pretexts."
