أصدر الاتحاد السعودي بياناً رسمياً نفى فيه ما تردد حول دخوله في مفاوضات مع المدير الرياضي لويس كامبوس قادماً من باريس سان جيرمان الفرنسي.

وقال الاتحاد السعودي في بيانه: "إشارة إلى ما تناقلته وسائل الإعلام بشأن المفاوضات مع البرتغالي لويس كامبوس المدير الرياضي في نادي باريس سان جيرمان لتوليه دفة الإدارة الفنية في الاتحاد، يؤكد الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم أن الخبر عارٍ من الصحة".
وأضاف: "ندعو إلى أهمية التواصل المباشر مع إدارة الإعلام والاتصال المؤسسي في الاتحاد عبر قنوات التواصل المتعددة لمزيد من تحري المصداقية لمثل تلك الأخبار".
وكانت صحيفة لو باريسيان الفرنسية أكدت أن الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم قدم عرضاً ضخماً للتعاقد مع كامبوس مقابل 200 مليون يورو.

وأشارت إلى أن العقد مع المدير الرياضي يمتد إلى 10 سنوات ليتولى وضع استراتيجية الكرة في البلد الآسيوي استعداداً لاستضافة كأس العالم 2034، حيث يستهدف المسؤولون تأهل منتخب السعودية إلى نصف نهائي المسابقة التي تقام للمرة الأولى على أرضه.
