تأثر أمير الكويت الشيخ مشعل الأحمد، لحظة دفن أخيه الشيخ نواف الأحمد الجابر الصباح في مقبرة الصليبيخات، وظهرت علامات الحزن عليه.
وشيع الكويتيون أميرهم الراحل الشيخ نواف الأحمد، إلى مثواه الأخير في مقبرة الصليبيخات، وسط مشاهد حزن تخيم على المشيعين.
أدى أمير الكويت الشيخ مشعل الأحمد، صباح اليوم، صلاة الجنازة على جثمان فقيد الوطن المغفور له أمير البلاد الراحل الشيخ نواف الاحمد، وذلك في مسجد بلال بن رباح في منطقة الصديق.
كما أدى صلاة الجنازة على جثمانه رحمه الله رئيس مجلس الامة أحمد السعدون وكبار الشيوخ و الشيخ ناصر المحمد والشيخ جابر المبارك والشيخ صباح الخالد والشيخ أحمد نواف الأحمد الصباح رئيس مجلس الوزراء وكبار المسؤولين بالدولة وحشد من المواطنين.
وفاة أمير الكويت الشيخ نواف الأحمدتوفى أمير الكويت، الشيخ نواف الأحمد الجابر الصباح، ظهر أمس، عن عمر ناهز 86 عاماً، بعد أكثر من 3 أعوام أمضاها على رأس الدولة.
وأسند الراحل الشيخ صباح الأحمد، للشيخ نواف الأحمد، مهمة النائب الأول لرئيس مجلس الوزراء وزيراً للداخلية 2003، وجرى تزكيته ولياً للعهد 2006، وعرف عنه قربه من الجميع وبساطته بالتعامل، وكان محور تهدئة للتوترات المتكررة بعلاقة السلطتين التشريعية والتنفيذية.
واستكمل وساطة الأزمة الخليجية بالسعودية، وأجرى أول زيارة خارجية له للسعودية لحضور قمة العلا 2021، وشهدت المصالحة، واتسمت الحياة البرلمانية بعهده بالهدوء.
ويصف الكويتيون أميرهم الشيخ نواف الأحمد بتواضعه، وهو ما وثقوه على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعى للقاءاتهم به غالباً فى المساجد، حيث كان يحرص على أداء الصلاة فى مسجد الحى السكنى الذى يقطنه متجرداً من مظاهر الحكم حتى فى ملابسه، إذ يحضر إلى المسجد دون عباءة، ويقود سيارته بنفسه دون حراسة.
