رئيس جنوب إفريقيا السابق قد يعود إلى السجن مجددا

أصدرت محكمة في جنوب إفريقيا حكما ربما يعيد رئيس البلاد السابق جاكوب زوما إلى السجن مجددا.
وأيدت المحكمة الدستورية لجنوب إفريقيا في جوهانسبرغ يوم الخميس، الحكم الصادر من محكمة الاستئناف العليا ضد زوما، 81 عاما، والتي أعلنت العام الماضي أن الإفراج المبكر عن زوما وخروجه من السجن لأسباب صحية غير قانونية.
وطعنت سلطات السجن في هذا الحكم، ومع ذلك، رفضت المحكمة الدستورية الطلب.
وكان زوما رئيسا للبلاد من عام 2009 إلى عام 2018، وحكم على رئيس البلاد السابق وزعيم حزب "المؤتمر الوطني الإفريقي" بالسجن لمدة 15 شهرا في عام 2021 بعد رفضه الإدلاء بشهادته أمام لجنة تحقيق في الفساد والمحسوبية خلال فترة وجوده في المنصب، ولكن بعد قضائه أقل من ثمانية أسابيع في السجن تم إطلاق سراحه بسبب مشاكل صحية.
وكان آرثر فريزر، رئيس إدارة السجن في ذلك الوقت وأحد المقربين من زوما، قد أمر بالإفراج عنه.
ولم يوافق مجلس الإفراج المشروط قبل ذلك على إطلاق سراح زوما.
