يعتبر قسم الطوارئ في مستشفى الدكتور سليمان الحبيب بالخبر، أحد أفضل المراكز المتخصصة بالمنطقة، حيث يتمتع بجاهزية عالية لتقديم الخدمات الطبية وفق أعلى المعايير، لمرضى الجلطات القلبية والدماغية وإصابات الحوادث وغيرها من الحالات الحرجة والطارئة من مختلف الأعمار وعلى مدار الساعة، على يد أميز الكفاءات الطبية المتخصصة في طب الطوارئ، وتحظى بالتأهيل العلمي الرفيع والخبرات العملية النوعية الطويلة، في الإنعاش القلبي والتعامل مع جلطات المخ والحوادث والإصابات الحرجة.

وقال د. أمجد عبيد رئيس القسم بالمستشفى أن "الطوارئ" حقق الكثير من النجاحات الطبية اللافتة، واستطاع التعامل بكفاءة واحترافية عالية مع العديد من الحالات الحرجة، الناتجة عن الحوادث أو الجلطات الدماغية والقلبية وغيرها، حيث يضم حدة كاملة مخصصة للعزل الصحي تتكون من "12" سرير مجهز بأنظمة آلية للتعامل السريع مع الحالات المعديّة، بحيث لا يقتصر دورها على قراءة بيانات المريض وقياس المؤشرات الحيوية، بل يتم إعطاء إنذارات للطاقم الطبي في حال وجود أي قراءة غير سليمة للحالة المرضية، مضيفاً أن هناك تحوطات مشددة للحيولة دون إصابة المرضى والمراجعين والكوادر الطبية العاملة بالعدوى.

ويضم القسم طوارئ لأمراض النساء والولادة لاستقبال الحالات الطارئة والحرجة، مع تصميم وإجراءات توفر أعلى درجات الخصوصية للمراجعات، إضافة إلى غرف ولادة مجهزة على أعلى مستوى وتحتوي على حواضن أطفال تراقب ذاتياً العلامات الحيوية والوزن والتدفئة عقب الولادة مباشرة ، كما أن الغرف مزودة أيضاً بجهاز " CTG" لتخطيط قلب الأم والجنين ومراقبة العلامات الحيوية قبل وبعد وأثناء الولادة.
كما يتميز بأنه مزود بمختبر خاص لإجراء الفحوصات الطبية المخبرية الأساسية، مثل أنزيمات القلب والهيموجلوبين وحموضة الدم والأملاح وغيرها، وهذه الميزة تسهم في تسريع وتسهيل تشخيص الحالات الحرجة، وحصولها على العلاج اللازم في أسرع وقت ممكن.
