اختير «الملك» ليبرون جيمس أسطورة كرة السلة الأميركية، ونجم لوس أنجلوس ليكرز، للمشاركة في مباراة كل النجوم «أول ستار» السنوية التقليدية التي تجمع نجوم المنطقتين الشرقية والغربية في دوري كرة السلة الأميركي للمحترفين.
وهذه المرة العشرون توالياً يُختار فيها جيمس «39 عاماً»، وهو رقمٌ قياسيّ للمتوّج بجائزة أفضل لاعب في الدوري أربع مرات.
ويتم تحديد اللاعبين الأساسيين في النسخة الرقم 73 من المواجهة السنوية، المقرر إجراؤها في 18 فبراير في إنديانابوليس، من خلال صيغة تتضمن تصويت المشجعين بنسبة 50 في المئة، ولاعبي الدوري والصحفيين بنسبة 25 في المئة لكل منهما.
واختير جيمس من بين 10 لاعبين أساسيين ليدخل التشكيلة للمرة العشرين توالياً منذ عام 2005 خلال موسمه الثاني في الدوري.
وحطّم «الملك» الفائز بلقب الدوري أربع مرات، الرقم القياسي السابق الذي كان يشاركه مع أسطورة ليكرز الثاني، كريم عبد الجبار.
ويُعتمد هذا العام نظام المواجهة التقليدية بين لاعبي المنطقتين الغربية والشرقية، بعد ست سنوات من اختبار نظام آخر في محاولة لإعادة الهيبة والاهتمام لمواجهة كثيراً ما تعرضت للانتقاد بسبب عدم الالتزام من اللاعبين المشاركين.
وبتصدّره تصويت المنطقة الغربية بـ3.096.031 مليون صوت، سيكون جيمس قائداً للتشكيلة، ويلعب إلى جانب مجموعةٍ تضمّ كيفن دورانت نجم فينيكس صنز، والصربي نيكولا يوكيتش الذي قاد دنفر ناجتس للفوز باللقب في الموسم الماضي، والمتوّج بجائزة أفضل لاعبٍ مرّتين.
كما تضمّ التشكيلة أيضاً كل من السلوفيني لوكا دونتشيتش «دالاس مافريكس»، والكندي شاي-جيلجيوس ألكسندر «أوكلاهوما سيتي ثاندر».
في المقابل، سيكون اليوناني اليوناني يانيس أنتيتوكونمبو نجم ميلووكي باكس «3.475.698 مليون صوت» قائداً لفريق المنطقة الشرقية الذي تضم تشكيلته الأساسية كلاً من الكاميروني جويل إمبيد هدّاف الموسم حالياً «فيلادلفيا سفنتي سيكسرز»، جايسون تايتوم «بوسطن سلتيكس»، تايريز هاليبورتون «إنديانا بايسرز»، وداميان ليلارد «ميلووكي باكس».
وقال تايتوم «لا تريد أن تضمن الأمر (الاختيار للمشاركة)»، وأضاف «تصويت الجمهور بشكلٍ دائمٍ لي هو شرف حقيقي، نشأت وأنا أريد أن أشارك في مباراة كل النجوم كل عام، وأن أعيش هذا الحلم في الحقيقة أمر رائع، أنا ممتنٌ كثيراً».
وسيتم الإعلان عن لاعبي الاحتياط لكِلا الفريقين الخميس المقبل، من قبل جميع مدربي الفرق الثلاثين في الدوري.
كما يختار مفوّض الدوري آدم سيلفر بديل أي لاعبٍ غير قادرٍ على المشاركة في المباراة، حيث يختار لاعباً من المنطقة نفسها.
