قال الدكتور محمد فايز فرحات رئيس مجلس إدارة مؤسسة الأهرام، إنّ الأهرام مؤسسة للتنوير، فقد لعبت دورا كبيرا في الحياة الثقافية بمصر، وشهدت صفحاتها معارك فكرية وجدالات حول قضايا المجتمع المصري منذ عقود.
وأضاف "فرحات"، في حواره مع الإعلامي أحمد الطاهري مقدم برنامج "كلام في السياسة"، المذاع على قناة "إكسترا نيوز": "بالإضافة إلى الدور التنويري للمؤسسة، فقد شهدت الأهرام صفحات مهمة تركت بصمة في السجل الفكري بمصر، كما أن الأهرام كيان ضخم اقتصاديا، وهذا الأمر يرجع إلى أمور كثيرة، فقد كان لها السبق في دخول الصحافة المتخصصة، ما أفسح المجال أمام ظهور مجموعة من الإصدارات والدوريات".
وتابع رئيس مجلس إدارة مؤسسة الأهرام: "الأهرام عملت على تطوير الموارد المالية للمؤسسة، وهي من المؤسسات القومية المملوكة للدولة والتي تُدار من خلال كيانات وأطر تشريعية محددة، وشهدت أفكارا كثيرة في مراحل مختلفة مثل إنشاء شركات مملوكة لها، فهي لديها مجموعة من الشركات".
