مستشفى الدكتور سليمان الحبيب بالخبر يستأصل بنجاح ورماً ضخماً ونادراً من رقبة "ستيني"

شهد مستشفى الدكتور سليمان الحبيب بالخبر، إجراء عملية استئصال ناجحة لورم نادر وضخم حجمه "10 × 10" من رقبة "ستيني"، ظل متعايشاً مع هذه الكتلة لأكثر من "20" عاماً، غير أنه عانى مؤخراً من أعراض متفاقمة، ذكر ذلك د. تركي المحيميد استشاري جراحة الأنف والأذن والحنجرة، رئيس الفريق الطبي المعالج.
وقال د. المحيميد أن المريض راجع المستشفى إثر شعوره بعدة أعراض متطورة كالألم المستمر في منطقة الغدد اللعابية، وصعوبة البلع وفتح الفم بشكل متسع والشعور بوخز في الوجه، هذا بالإضافة إلى تشوه بالوجه.

واستطرد د.المحيميد موضحاً أن المريض أُخضع لعملية تم فيها استئصال الورم بالكامل، بالإضافة إلى جزء من الغدة النكافية اليمنى، مع المحافظة على سلامة الأعصاب الموجودة بالوجه، مشيراً إلى أن العملية التي استمرت "4" ساعات مضت بسلاسة ودون مضاعفات، وتوجت جهود الفريق الطبي في النهاية ولله الحمد بالنجاح التام، ونقل المريض من غرفة العمليات مباشرة إلى جناح التنويم بحالة مستقرة.
ووصف د.المحيميد الحالة بالنادرة بالنظر إلى ضخامة حجم الكتلة، مؤكداً أن حالات الأورام المماثلة المسجلة على مستوى العالم لا تتجاوز "30" حالة، مضيفاً أن المريض أمضى "48" ساعة منوماً بالمستشفى ومحاطاً بالعناية الطبية الفائقة، قبل أن يغادر إلى منزله بحالة صحية جيدة، وقد تخلص من كافة الأعراض التي قضت مضجعه قبل العملية، كما أنه تخلص أيضاً من التشوه الذي أحدثه الورم في وجهه.
