عاجل: برئاسة ولي العهد.. مجلس المحميات الملكية يعتمد المستهدفات طويلة المدى للمحميات الملكية

أعلن صاحب السمو الملكي الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبد العزيز آل سعود، ولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء رئيس مجلس المحميات الملكية - حفظه الله -، اعتماد مجلس المحميات الملكية المستهدفات الإستراتيجية لعام 2030 للمحميات الملكية.
وتدعم هذه المستهدفات الاستراتيجيات الشاملة للمحميات الملكية، وتركز على حماية الحياة الفطرية وأنشطة التشجير وتعزيز السياحة البيئية وتوفير فرص العمل.

وتسهم المستهدفات المعتمدة للمحميات الملكية في دعم جهود المملكة في الاستدامة والحفاظ على البيئة عبر المساهمة في أهداف مبادرة السعودية الخضراء في حماية 30% من المناطق البرية والبحرية في المملكة بحلول عام 2030، حيث تشكل المحميات السبع 13.5% من إجمالي مساحة المملكة العربية السعودية، بالإضافة إلى المساهمة في مستهدفات زراعة الأشجار في المملكة بما يزيد على 80 مليون شجرة بحلول 2030.
وتمثل المحميات الملكية وجهات متميزة للسياحة البيئية، وترسخ مكانة المملكة كوجهة سياحية رائدة، حيث تستهدف المحميات استقطاب أكثر من 2.3 مليون زائر سنوياً، بالإضافة الى إعادة تأهيل وحماية أكثر من 15 موقعاً من المواقع الأثرية والتاريخية بحلول عام 2030.
وبموجب هذه المستهدفات، ستقوم المحميات الملكية بحماية وإعادة توطين أكثر من 30 نوعاً من الحيوانات المحلية المعرضة للخطر والمهددة بالانقراض.
ومن المتوقع أن تسهم هذه المستهدفات البيئية والسياحية في توفير العديد من فرص العمل المباشرة وغير المباشرة للمجتمعات المحلية في المحميات الملكية.
يذكر أن مجلس المحميات الملكية تأسس بموجب أمر ملكي بهدف تحديد التوجهات الإستراتيجية لمنظومة المحميات الملكية والحفاظ على مكوناتها البيئية والطبيعية وإعادة توطين الحياة الفطرية فيها وتعزيز سبل إنمائها وتنشيط السياحة البيئية، مع ضمان احتفاظ كل محمية بهويتها الفريدة. كما تم تأسيس هيئات تطوير المحميات الملكية التي تُعنى بإعداد الاستراتيجيات والخطط وجميع ما يتعلق بإدارة العمليات وتنفيذها.
