سباح سعودي من ذوى الهمم يبدأ رحلة عبور المانش من الغردقة

أعلن السباح خالد شلبي وكيل الاتحاد الانجليزي لعبور المانش في الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا عن رغبة المملكة العربية السعودية لضم سترووك إيجيبت الوكيل الحصري لعبور المانش اليها في المملكة وتبني السباح السعودي فيصل القصيبي من ذوى الهمم إعاقة ذهنية "داون سندروم" ليقوم شلبي لتأهيله لعبور بحر المانش في اغسطس ٢٠٢٤.
واضاف شلبي في تصريحات صحفية اليوم، انه جاري عملية اختبارات وتدريب السباح السعودي بمدينة الغردقة بمحافظة البحر الأحمر لمدة ١٠ ايام من كل شهر، تحت رعاية وزارة الشباب والرياضة ويقوم شلبي اول من عبر المانش بزراع واحدة بالاشراف على تدريبات السباح باقي ايام الشهر في المملكة بمعاونة السباحة الأولمبية شيروت حافظ.
واوضح شلبي، أنه من المقرر أن يشارك السباح السعودي مجموعة من السباحين من ألمانيا واسبانيا وسباحين من مصر ليصبح فيصل اول سباح من فئة داون سيندرم في الشرق الأوسط يشارك في محاولة لعبور المانش ويعيد امجاد المملكة العربية السعودية للسباحة الطويلة بعد غياب أكثر من ٤٠ عاما.
وأكد شلبي ان سترووك إيجيبت من المقرر أن تقوم بجولة في المملكة لاكتشاف السباحين من ذوى الهمم لضمهم في مسابقات سباحة فى المياه المفتوحة، ويأتي ذلك في إطار اهتمام المملكة بذوي الهمم من أجل المنافسة على بطولات العالم وليس مجرد احراز مراكز شرفية.
