أعلن نائب رئيس المجلس البلدي خالد المطيري عن تقدمه مع أعضاء المجلس البلدي باقتراح تخصيص منطقة سكنية جنوب طريق 6.5.
وقال المطيري: سعيا نحو توفير الحلول والبدائل لتقليل المدد الزمنية لمنتظري الرعاية السكنية، ولكي لا يكون السكن للأسر الكويتية حلما بل واقعا يمكن تحقيقه، وتأكيدا على أن القضية الإسكانية تتصدر اهتمام أجهزة الدولة ومنها المجلس البلدي، فقد تقدمت مع الزملاء في المجلس البلدي باقتراح لتخصيص منطقة سكنية جديدة جنوب الطريق 6.
وذكــــر ان القضـيـــــة الإسكانية في صـــدارة اهتمام المواطنين ورعاية الدولة ومع تصاعد قائمة منتظري الرعاية السكنية، الأمر الذي يستوجب تخصيص مواقع لمشاريع إسكانية جديدة، وتحقيقا لهذا الغرض يوجد موقع جنوب الطريق الدائري 6.5 وجنوب منطقة غرب عبدالله المبارك يصلح لإقامة مشروع إسكاني جديد يضم عددا من القسائم السكنية بشرط تخصيص موقع بديل لمحطة المترو الرئيسية غير الموجودة حاليا على المخططات المساحية ذات الصلة في هذا الموقع، ولم تصدر بشأنها حتى الآن الموافقات النهائية؛ ولذلك، أقترح تخصيص الموقع بالتنسيق مع «السكنية» على أن يتم نقل الموقع المتعارض وغير القائم لمحطة المترو إلى موقع آخر مناسب بالتنسيق مع الجهات ذات الصلة.
