نجح مستشفى الدكتور سليمان الحبيب بالخبر، في إستئصال ورماً ليفياً ضخماً من الرحم عبر المنظار لمريضة تبلغ من العمر 33 عاماً ، عانت على مدار 5 أشهر من نوبات حادة من الألم بمنطقة الحوض، ونزيف دموي متكرر ، يصاحبه نزول كتل صغيرة من الرحم مع كل دورة شهرية وانتفاخات شديدة بالبطن.

فتم إخضاعها لمجموعة من التحاليل المخبرية والفحوصات الدقيقة بأشعة الرنين المغناطيسي MRI، وقد أظهرت النتائج أن حجم الورم الليفي 26X18 سم ، بموجب ذلك قرر الفريق الطبي إجراء المنظار لاستئصال الورم ، والحد من إصابة المريضة بمزيد من المضاعفات والآلآم .
وأوضحت د.سارة أنه تم تحضير المريضة للعملية والتي استغرقت 4 ساعات تحت التخدير الكامل ، وتم فيها استخدام المنظار الجراحي لاستئصال كامل الورم وتحريره من جدار الرحم عبر 4 جروح صغيرة لا تتجاوز 1.5 سم .
