وقع زلزال بقوة 5.1 ريختر بمنطقة هندوكوش في أفغانستان، وفقًا لقناة العربية.
فيما أكد متحدث باسم البيت الأبيض أن وزير الخارجية الروسي سيرجي لافروف ونظيره الأمريكي ماركو روبيو أجريا "محادثة مثمرة"، لكن واشنطن لا ترى حاجة لعقد لقاء شخصي بينهما.
وقال المتحدث باسم البيت الأبيض، وفقا لما نقله موقع "أكسيوس": "أجرى لافروف وروبيو محادثة مثمرة، لذا ليست هناك حاجة لعقد لقاء شخصي إضافي بين وزيري الخارجية ".
وسبق أن وصفت وزارة الخارجية الروسية الشائعات حول لقاء وزير الخارجية الروسي سيرغي لافروف ونظيره الأمريكي ماركو روبيو بأنها "ضجيج إعلامي"، ونصحت وسائل الإعلام بعدم المشاركة فيها.
وأفادت شبكة "سي إن إن" نقلا عن مسؤولين في البيت الأبيض، في وقت سابق، بأن الاجتماع بين وزيري الخارجية الأمريكي والروسي والذي قالت إنه كان يتوقع عقده هذا الأسبوع، قد تم تأجيله مؤقتا.
وأجرى لافروف وروبيو أمس الاثنين مكالمة هاتفية قالت الخارجية الروسية إنه دار خلالها "نقاش بناء حول الخطوات الملموسة الممكنة لتنفيذ التفاهمات" التي توصل إليها زعيما البلدين في ألاسكا.
