معارض ترامب الشرس زهران ممداني يفوز بمنصب عمدة نيويورك

انتخب المرشح الديمقراطي زهران ممداني، المعارض الشرس لدونالد ترامب، رئيسا لبلدية نيويورك الثلاثاء وفق ما أفادت شبكات "إن بي سي" و"سي إن إن" و"سي بي إس" استنادا إلى نتائج أولية.
ويتقدم ممداني البالغ 34 عاما على حاكم الولاية السابق أندرو كومو والجمهوري كورتيس سليوا، وفق ما أظهرت النتائج الأولية الصادرة عن مجلس انتخابات مدينة نيويورك.
وسيصبح ممداني أول رئيس بلدية مسلم لأكبر مدينة في الولايات المتحدة في الأول من يناير.
وهدد الرئيس ترامب، بوقف التمويل الاتحادي عن مدينة نيويورك، إذا فاز ممداني بمنصب العمدة في الانتخابات البلدية.
ووصف ترامب في منشور له على منصة تروث سوشيال ممداني بأنه "شيوعي"، قائلا إنه سيترك المدينة "بفرصة صفر للنجاح أو حتى البقاء".
وفي فرجينيا، فازت الديمقراطية المعتدلة أبيغيل سبانبرغر بسهولة بمنصب حاكم الولاية.
وستكون سبانبرغر (46 عاما)، وهي ضابطة سابقة في وكالة المخابرات المركزية، أول امرأة تشغل منصب حاكم ولاية فرجينيا بعد أن هزمت بسهولة نائبة الحاكم الجمهورية وينسوم إيرل سيرز.
وفي نيوجرسي فازت الديمقراطية ميكي شيريل بانتخابات حاكم الولاية.
وقدمت هذه السباقات الثلاثة للحزب الديمقراطي فرصة اختبار مختلف أساليب الحملات الانتخابية قبل عام من انتخابات التجديد النصفي لعام 2026، عندما ستكون السيطرة على الكونغرس على المحك.
فمنذ فوز الرئيس ترامب العام الماضي، وجد الديمقراطيون أنفسهم خارج السلطة في واشنطن ويكافحون لإيجاد أفضل طريق للخروج من المأزق السياسي.
وركز المرشحون الثلاثة على القضايا الاقتصادية، لا سيما القدرة على تحمل التكاليف.
لكن سبانبرغر وشيريل تنتميان إلى الجناح المعتدل في الحزب، في حين أدار ممداني حملته الانتخابية باعتباره تقدميا وصوتا من جيل جديد.
