On Thursday, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, discussed with the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, international and regional efforts regarding renewing the truce and launching a new political process that meets the aspirations of the Yemenis for peace, stability and development.

 Al-Alimi, along with Council members Major General Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi and Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, received at Ma’ashiq Palace the delegation of the Gulf Cooperation Council headed by Al-Budaiwi, who is visiting the capital, Aden.

 During the meeting, Al-Alimi touched on the breaches and violations of the Houthi militias, their explicit service with terrorist organizations, and the regional and international pressures required to end the long-standing human suffering, touching on the latest developments related to the mediation efforts led by Saudi Arabia to bring peace to Yemen.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council, on his behalf and the members of the Council and the government, expressed his great thanks and appreciation for the position of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and its General Secretariat on the side of the Yemeni people, and its constitutional legitimacy, in various stages, leading to its active role in confronting the dangers that threaten the Yemeni entity, identity, and national economy after the Houthi militia coup backed by the Iranian regime.

 For his part, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassem Al-Budaiwi, affirmed the Council’s firm position in supporting the efforts led by the United Nations to achieve comprehensive peace in Yemen, praising the efforts made by Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman to end the Yemeni crisis.

 The Gulf official renewed the support of the GCC countries for the Presidential Leadership Council to achieve security and stability in the country.  He stressed the importance of the strategic partnership between the Council and the Republic of Yemen in all fields.
